Pleased to have illustrated the wraparound cover for Gerakbudaya's edition of 'A Life Beyond Boundaries', the memoir by Benedict Anderson. He wrote 'Imagined Communities', probably the most widely read text on nationalism, and his life's work demonstrates the inseparability of politics and scholarship. The concept of an insular frog beneath a coconut shell comes from a Malay proverb ("katak di bawah tempurung") and is used in the book.

This cover was awarded a Honorable Mention in The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles Illustration West 56 competition, and Gerakbudaya Readers' Choice Award for Best Cover Design.
